Hızlı internet erişimi ADSL’de altyapı yatırımlarını artıran Türk Telekom, ocak ayında mevcut hız kapasitesini 20’ye katlayan VDSL2 servisini devreye sokmaya hazırlanıyor.

Hızlı internet erişimi ADSL’de altyapı yatırımlarını artıran Türk Telekom (TT), mevcut hız kapasitesini 20’ye katlayan VDSL2 servisini başlatmaya hazırlanıyor. TT’nin ocak ayında çıkaracağı VDSL2, ilk etapta 100 bin aboneye ulaştırılacak ve 30 megabit hızda olacak. Böylece ADSL’de 4 megabit olan hız da bir anda 8’e katlanmış olacak.
VDSL2 sayesinde bireysel kullanıcılar da oldukça gelişmiş seviyede internet erişimine sahip olabilecekler. Örnek vermek gerekirse, 700 MB’lık DivX formatında bir film, VDSL2 sayesinde 4 dakikada, 5 MB büyüklüğünde bir müzik dosyası ise 25 saniyede bilgisayara yüklenebilecek.

TT ayrıca internet erişimindeki hız kapasitesini de kademeli olarak artıracak. Planlara göre, bu sıralama 8 , 12, 16, 20, 24 ve 30 megabit olacak. 30 Mbitlik paketin fiyatını açıklamayan TT yetkilileri, hız artışıyla birlikte ADSL ücretlerinde düşüş olacağını söyledi.

Altyapı sağlayıcısı TT, ADSL hizmetinde olduğu gibi VDSL2 servisini de toptan olarak satacak. Ardından da başta TT Net olmak üzere diğer şirketler bu servisi son kullanıcıya ulaştıracak.

İlk etapta 30 megabit olan hız seviyesi, 70 megabite kadar çıkacak. Şirketin 2008 sonu hedefi bu servisi 250 bin kullanıcıya ulaştırmak. Bunun için ciddi altyapı yatırımı yapan firma, yurtdışı çıkış hatlarını da kuvvetlendirmek için çalışma başlattı. Bu kapsamda New York, Londra ve Paris’te POP noktaları kurulacak. Bu sayede gerek duyulduğunda buralardan da hizmet alınmış olacak.

VDSL2 aynen ADSL’de olduğu gibi telefon hattı kullanılarak ve hat meşgul edilmeden kullanılıyor. Sadece modemlerin bu teknolojiye uyumlu olması gerekiyor.

VDSL2 sayesinde, kullanıcılar Triple Play denilen ses, görüntü, veri, yüksek çözünürlüklü televizyon (HDTV) ve interaktif oyunlardan da yararlanabiliyor.
